The Magical Liquid Lift

before-after-june19

We live in a world where a client comes in for a treatment on Tuesday and expects to take a stunning selfie by Friday night. This does not leave much time for a costly surgical procedure with significant bruising and swelling and time off work. The current pace is a fast one. The cosmetic consumer market demands quick results with minimal to zero downtime. Fortunately we now have a magnificent artillery of injectable products that can deliver these kinds of results.

The Liquid Face Lift or Softlift, a phrase coined by Allergan, the makers of Botox, Juvederm, Belkyra and Latisse, is a procedure that combines injectables to produce results comparable to many surgical procedures. The beauty of a Liquid Lift or Softlift is that the procedure can be performed in less than an hour, and the client can return to normal life activities immediately after, often with no bruising and only minimal swelling. Gone are the days where high rolling clients would be discreetly ushered out of an operating room after a $20000-$30000 surgical procedure and into a fancy “recuperative hotel” to heal from their wounds for weeks after.

Now, worldwide and especially here in Vancouver, Canada, everyone has access to the benefits of a Liquid Face Lift. Each person can decide how soft or aggressive they want their treatment to be depending on the desired outcome. Many clients simply request to look more rested, less fatigued and less angry. My most requested treatment is the anti-fatigue procedure. For this procedure I typically use anti-wrinkle injections like Botox or Xeomin for the upper face to reduce excessive expression that often makes us look tired and angry. I combine this with Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Juvederm, Belotero, Revanesse and Restylane to the under eye areas and cheeks, which when deflated can make the face look sunken and excessively fatigued. The result is a face that looks softer, rejuvenated, rested and happier.

Injectables can also be used for lower facial contouring, an area of the face that is often neglected as previous treatment options were almost only surgical.

Now with injectables we can contour the jawline, enhance the chin, slim the lower face and eliminate a double chin. My most requested treatments for lower face contouring include the facial slimming procedure, where neurotoxins such as Botox and Xeomin are injected into the masseter muscles to slim the face, dermal filler like Juvederm Volume or Belotero Volume for chin and jawline enhancement, and most recently Belkyra (known as Kybella in the USA), a substance that dissolves fat under the chin for a more sleek, contoured profile.
